Martin and Lisa Wed -- Karen's the Bridesmaid!

Whew! Our family recovered from illness just in time! If you're reading us for the first time, Karen gifted Lisa with a year of legal marriage to Martin, which began with today's wedding. For more photos, see our Facebook albums.

It was a white wedding -- held in the middle of an ice blizzard which closed all roads to our intentional community. Fortunately, the wedding party and all guests lived in the community, except for Lisa's mom, who stayed in the guest room.

The minister, Deb, created a ceremony just for us. She had to balance our wish to create a special day for Martin and Lisa with our desire to include Karen as much as possible. Deb called upon everyone attending to vow to support the marriage. "We do!"

Lisa was a nervous as any bride to be, and held on to Karen for the entire ceremony. Karen gave Lisa away, and Martin's friend Mark was his best man.

We had the traditional champagne toast and wedding cake feed. Kate and Warren brought a bottle of champagne from their own recent wedding, creating a continuity of blessing.
