What Do You Do with a Giant Zucchini?

We had a community salon yesterday. Salons are gifts of neighbors, who provide tasty food and a cozy place to meet. We eat and talk about where we'd like to go next as a community. This salon had an especially magnificent spread-- not surprising since the hostess is taking cooking classes. Those are hollowed-out giant zucchini you see here, lined with tea candles.

Karen is almost finished treatment for breast cancer. She has only one week of radiation treatments to go! Her spirits, energy, and hair are returning, as she recovers from chemotherapy. She looks great! (But see for yourself.)

We recently heard from Don McKay, the original owner of the first polygamy web site (3coins.com)--

[...] in the early 80 and 90 I was living a plural life and there were many up and downs , but there was a closeness I can't explain. it was so good to see you three together. i have been remarried of course and we are looking but we're not rushing into anything. I hope one day I will find another mate. until then I will live one day at a time and help as many people that I can.
Love and best wishes to you three.

Our neighbor Lyn called us and asked to take me out to a concert. I passed the phone to both Karen and Lisa, who agreed that I definitely needed to go out and have fun, so I did. We went to the Seattle Symphony performance "Sci-Fi Favorites, Featuring Music by John Williams". We arrived a little early, so there was plenty of time to sip mochas and watch the crowd. As I had surmised, despite the "Sci-Fi" theme, the great majority of un-coupled attendees were women. So if you're looking for a sister-wife, concerts are another way to go. The music was great, too!

We've evidently expanded our blog-readership into the FLDS communities. We have readers in both Short Creek and Centennial Park--

Hello. My name is Kevin LeBaron I live in a polygamist community called Centennial Park AZ. I like your blog I am just starting up a blog of my own called MeandPolygamy.com. The main point of my blog is to portray to people that polygamy is not a bad way to live. I'm wondering if you would be willing to link to my blog. you can check it out at meandpolygamy.wordpress.com

Kevin's blog is an interesting read. Living in Centennial Park gives Kevin a unique perspective on Warren Jeff's ongoing trial. The outcome of this trial could affect the legality of polygamy in Utah and Arizona, so stay tuned with Kevin's blog, which we'll be adding to our blog roll.
